This Banjo-Kazooie Cover Is Guh-hut-Wrenching

Straying from his typical fare of anime and anime-inspired video games, Legendav took a crack at “Spiral Mountain” from Banjo-Kazooie, and the result is compelling as it is unique. I’ve heard a lot of Banjo-Kazooie covers in my time, but I’ve never heard one that plays with the melodies and the rhythms of Grant Kirkhope like this. Good covers can remind us why we fell in love with a particular track, but great covers can completely re-contextualize a soundtrack—this is one such cover. If Banjo and his fowl-mouthed friend are ever made into an anime, I know the perfect closing song.
