Announcing the Redux Cover Contest
GameGrooves is proud to present its second cover contest, the Redux Cover Contest. Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it.
Mission
Pick a publicly-released cover that you created, and using the skills that you’ve developed over the past few years, update said track. You can choose to update your track in one of three ways:
Production
Arrangement
Video
The goal is to show the most progress as possible, so don’t be afraid to pick a track that isn’t your strongest. Ideally, you’ll attempt to update the track in all three categories (assuming this is a video cover), but you will only be judged for one category of your choosing.
Timeline
You have from now until February 29th at 11:59 PM EST to complete your redux cover. Once you’ve finished your redux cover, please send a link to the redux cover, a link to the original cover, and the category of your choosing to gamegrooves87@gmail.com.
Prizes
Each category will have one winner. The prizes for each category are listed below:
Production - Software from Native Instruments of your choosing (up to $50)
Arrangement - Software from Native Instruments of your choosing (up to $50)
Video - Fancierstudio Chromakey Backdrop
In addition, all three winners will be featured in a future GameGrooves article.
Judges
There will be three judges for the Redux Cover Contest.
Ro Panuganti - Ro Panuganti is a home-studio guitarist and musician, covering video game and other music on Youtube in a variety of rock and metal genres out of his bedroom.
James C. Hoffman - James is a media music composer and songwriter in Los Angeles. He creates music and sound effects for short films and other media, as well as writing, arranging, recording and mixing for bands and songwriters.

As a classically-trained singer, Julia’s productions are heavily influenced by vocal and choral compositions, however, Julia loves exploring other genres such as rock, jazz, funk, and metal.
