With the imminent release of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Ro Panuganti has set phasers to hype by announcing a new Pokémon tribute album, Metal Trainer. The album features nine tracks from Pokémon Red and Blue, and promises to “place the trainer in their greatest, heaviest journey yet”. Given the quality of The Temples, The Wild, and The Dark Hunter, I think it’s a safe bet that Metal Trainer will raise the bar for VGM once again.
