Heart Seeker: A Kingdom Hearts Collection

After last year’s award-winning album, See the World, it appears that Allison Martin is hard at work on her new magnum opus, Heart Seeker. Heart Seeker: A Kingdom Hearts Collection is a collection of 14 tracks spanning the entire 20-year Kingdom Hearts franchise. From big band, to jazz combo, to even samba, this album has a track for everyone and is for Kingdom Hearts fans and general music fans alike.

Of course, making a cover album can be expensive (I should know), so Allison is raising funds to help with all her costs, including licensing, mastering, artwork, and promotion. Judging from the track demos on her website, I think Allison could have another award-winning album on her hands. Here’s what she had to say about Heart Seeker.

We all know that Kingdom Hearts has some of the best music in video game history. Yoko Shimomura is absolutely brilliant, and her intricate web of musical themes—like “Dearly Beloved —gives the series such a lasting impact. Hikaru Utada has also become a musical pillar of the franchise with their memorable pop hits that we can’t stop singing along to. But what about…everything else?

For me, “Heart Seeker: A Kingdom Hearts Collection” is really two things. First, it’s a tribute to all of those songs that might not come to mind when we think “Kingdom Hearts music” but still manage to make us hum along as we hear them. And second? It’s a way to hear these tracks like you’ve never heard them before. I play around with genre, instrumentation, timing…well, everything!

Heart Seeker: A Kingdom Hearts Collection is scheduled to be released later this year in late November or early December.
