Ro Panuganti Cooks Up His Best Cover

In this latest video, Ro Panuganti combines his love of VGM with his love of cooking (and video editing). For those who don’t know, Ro has dabbled with cooking videos before, but nothing to this effect, and I can’t think of a better game to cover than Venba. Venba is a short narrative cooking game, where you play as an Indian mom, who immigrates to Canada with her family in the 1980s. Players will cook various dishes and restore lost recipes, hold branching conversations and explore in this story about family, love, loss and more. Venba releases later this month on July 31st.

As for the cover, Ro has created something that’s deeply personal and moving, introducing fans of VGM to a whole new world of sights, sounds, and tastes. I especially enjoyed the side narrative as he texts his Mom tips for cooking. While I’m not sure if Ro will create more covers in this same style, I have to applaud his ingenuity and his authenticity in what is clearly his best cover to date.
