April Fools’ is a time-honored tradition where VGM artists compete to create the most fun, memorable, and annoying cover possible. This year, everyone stepped up their game, making it hard for me to narrow down my favorites into one list.

What better way to celebrate 500 subscribers than with a massive collab cover of “DK Rap”? Congratulations RichGC!

For this article, I caught up with five musicians (TorbyBrand, 2 Players for Life, RichGC, Justin Thornburgh, and Fredrik Häthén) to ask about their experience with the Pixel Mixers/GameGrooves charity album Heroes.

Given the last few months, I’d say we could all use a pick-me-up, and I can’t think of a better choice than RichGC’s latest collaboration with Chromatic Apparatus.

Winning the GameGrooves Costume Contest was no easy feat, but there was one cover that outshined the rest—“Hot Head Bop” from Donkey Kong Country 2 featuring Kain White, RichGC, Dacian Grada, and Prjz Calavera.
