Ongaku Overdrive Returns!

After over a year of being apart, Ongaku Overdrive returns to live events with "The Whims Of Fate," which will not only be an amazing night of live video game and anime music, but a reunion for an amazing community of fans. Ongaku Overdrive: The Whims of Fate will take place on Sunday, July 11th 2021 at Soundbar in beautiful downtown Orlando, Florida. The lineup will feature some of the best live performers of video game and anime music, who have spent the past year making platforms such as Twitch and YouTube their stage:
LACEY JOHNSON - The "Keytar Kween" hails from Los Angeles, California and is a newcomer to the VGM community, releasing music videos on YouTube with high production values featuring music from Persona, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, and more. Lacey's exuberance is infectious, and it’s easy to see why so many people enjoy her music.
BEN BRIGGS - Ben Briggs is a full-time musician, entertainer, and DJ with over a decade of experience; widely known for remixing video game music. As the co-owner of Tiny Waves and a veteran contributor to the chiptune & video game music scene, Ben has quickly become a key influencer in the industry with countless successful events and music releases.
DJ-JO - dj-Jo has made his mark on the YouTube community with his hard hitting, melody driven arrangements of popular anime and video game franchises such as Attack on Titan, Tokyo Ghoul, The Legend of Zelda, and Undertale. His live shows are high-energy spectacles, even on stream, where he performs his music on stage with his trusty keytar.
O_SUPER - O_Super is an Orlando-based nerdcore emcee who draws influence from hip hop, jazz, lofi, and golden age video games. O_Super has been performing as an independent Artist, and is also the musical director for CEO Gaming, producing and releasing the yearly collaborative CEO Original Soundtrack since 2013.
GG CAT - GG CAT is a funk/fusion/pop band based out of Orlando, FL that plays video game music live. GG CAT plays all of the biggest hits, from beloved Nintendo franchises like Super Mario and Pokemon, to incredible PlayStation exclusives like Persona and brilliant PC titles like Portal. Most recently, GG CAT performed at Orlando Fringe.
"While we have presented many great online concerts during the last year, we have really missed hosting live events and seeing our friends and family," states Ongaku Overdrive founder Kent Ward. "The Whims of Fate will be an amazing night that will bring our people back together while we party with some of our favorite acts in the VGM community."
In addition to live music, Ongaku Overdrive: The Whims of Fate will feature Persona-themed drinks, game setups, prize raffles, cosplay, and more. The event will be hosted by the incomparable Jackson Parodi. Soundbar is located at 37 W. Pine Street, Orlando, FL 32801. Doors will open at 6:00pm and admission is 18+.
