I had the great pleasure of hosting a panel on how to create a VGM cover album for this year’s vgmtogether.

Over the past year, GameGrooves Music has released 9 albums and 100 tracks, featured over 200 artists, created over 6 hours of music, and generated over $300 for charity.

With the arrival of the new decade, now is the perfect time to reflect on the video game music community and how much it has changed over the past 10 years.

This past weekend, Pixel Mixers released their 26th community album, Timeless Ocean, a celebration of the Ecco the Dolphin series. All four games were represented on the album which featured 30 different musicians and 28 tracks.

Hashel is a man that wears many hats—arranger, producer, fan, community leader. Most likely, you know him as the fearless leader of Pixel Mixers, but whatever the case, you know that he has passion for video game music and the community that surrounds it.
